Our take

The Kingston FURY Renegade DDR5-6400 CL32 is a fast, tightly timed kit for Intel builds. Intel's Core Ultra processors make good use of higher memory speeds, and this kit's XMP 3.0 profile makes setup a single click.

Why it suits Intel

Intel's Core Ultra 200S processors officially support DDR5-6400 and handle faster memory well, so a 6400MHz kit with tight CL32 timings gives them a small but real boost in CPU-heavy games and memory-sensitive work over a 6000MHz kit.

AMD's Ryzen processors are different. They run their memory controller in step with the memory only up to about 6000MHz, so a 6400MHz kit usually either runs out of sync or needs manual tuning. For AMD builds, a DDR5-6000 CL30 kit is the better choice.

Setup

Turn on the XMP profile in your motherboard's BIOS and the kit runs at 6400MHz. The first boot can take a minute or two while the system trains the memory. Use two sticks rather than four for the best chance of stable high speeds.

Design

The FURY Renegade has a black and silver aluminium heat spreader. At around 39mm tall, it's taller than low-profile kits and can clash with the front fan of some large air coolers, so check clearance. Kingston also sells an RGB version, and the kit comes with a lifetime warranty.

Who should buy it

Buy the FURY Renegade DDR5-6400 for an Intel Core Ultra gaming or creative PC. For AMD Ryzen, choose a DDR5-6000 CL30 kit.
