Our take

The HyperX Cloud III Wireless keeps the comfort and clear sound of HyperX's famous Cloud range and adds up to 120 hours of battery life, so you'll rarely need to charge it.

Comfort and build

Like the wired Cloud III, the wireless version has plush memory-foam ear cushions, a padded headband and a durable aluminium frame. It's comfortable for long sessions and tough enough to last years.

Sound

53mm drivers, angled slightly towards your ears, give a balanced, clear sound with good detail. Bass is lighter than some rivals, which keeps dialogue and footsteps clear but makes it less punchy for action films and bass-heavy music. DTS Headphone:X spatial audio is available on PC.

Wireless and battery

The 2.4GHz dongle uses USB-C, with a USB-A adapter included, so it plugs into PCs, PS5 and Switch docks, and some phones and tablets with USB-C. Battery life is up to 120 hours, so many people charge it every couple of weeks. There's no Bluetooth.

Microphone

The detachable 10mm microphone is clear and natural, with a mute button on the ear cup.

Who should buy it

Buy the Cloud III Wireless for a comfortable, durable wireless headset with excellent battery life for PC, PS5 or Switch. If you want even longer battery life, the Cloud Alpha Wireless lasts up to 300 hours. If you need Bluetooth, look at the SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7.
