Our take

The ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 fits proper gaming performance into a slim 14-inch aluminium chassis with a fast OLED screen. It works as an everyday laptop for work and study as well as a gaming machine.

Design

The G14's CNC-machined aluminium body is slim and understated, weighing from about 1.5kg, light enough to carry daily. It looks more like a premium work laptop than a typical gaming one, with an optional light strip on the lid.

Display

The 14-inch 3K OLED screen has a 120Hz refresh rate, very fast response times, perfect blacks and vivid colours. It's excellent for games, films and creative work, and ASUS calibrates it for colour accuracy.

Performance

The 2025 G14 pairs AMD Ryzen AI 9 processors with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50-series laptop graphics, from the RTX 5060 up to the RTX 5080 depending on the model. Even the entry configuration runs most games well at high settings, especially with DLSS 4, and higher-end versions handle the screen's 3K resolution. A slim chassis limits how much power the GPU can use, so a larger laptop with the same GPU is usually a little faster.

Under heavy load, the G14 runs warm and the fans get loud. ASUS's Silent mode helps for lighter tasks.

Battery and ports

The 73Wh battery gives good battery life for a gaming laptop when the graphics card isn't in use, often a full day of light work. There's a strong selection of ports, including USB4, HDMI 2.1 and a microSD card reader.

Windows laptops are sold in many configurations under the same name, with different processors, graphics, memory and screens. Check the exact specification in the listing before you buy.

Who should buy it

Buy the Zephyrus G14 if you want a gaming laptop you can carry every day that also works as a premium work laptop. If you mostly game at a desk and want more performance for the money, the Lenovo Legion 5 is the alternative.
